The Yamaha Drive 48v Solenoid is an excellent unit for getting the power where it needs to be. Are you aware of what is actually happening internally to achieve that end? When you hit the pedal on your caddie, the controller sends signals to the two small terminals on the relay. This is at the total voltage of the batteries but only a few amps. When this happens, you will hear a click. That is because the signal that was received from the controller was used to create an electromagnetic field that forced a movable contact to join the two larger terminals. These have your large cables connected to them. Every time you hit the pedal, this happens. You can see why we consider this a high wear item.
This golf cart solenoid is not a difficult part to install by any means. You want to make sure you flip the run and tow switch to the tow position and disconnect the main battery positive and negative.
